From the beginning, ENIGMA has never been about volume. When we first launched four years ago, our collections were produced in limited, individually numbered runs, and they sold out almost immediately. That moment set the tone for what ENIGMA would become: a brand defined by rarity, craftsmanship, and enduring demand.
That same story continues today. Our artisans still handcraft each frame in small batches, adhering to the same meticulous standards that built ENIGMA’s reputation. Every piece undergoes a multi-stage process using hand-polished Mazzucchelli1849 acetate, precision Zeiss optics, and hardware stress-tested to over 200,000 bends. Perfection takes time; and the work of our craftsmen cannot be rushed.
Recently, an extraordinary surge in demand has coincided with our continued commitment to artisanal production. This combination has led to temporary shortages across several of our most sought-after models. While we could increase output by outsourcing or lowering our standards, that has never been, and will never be, the ENIGMA way.
A Commitment to Craft Over Convenience
Each pair of ENIGMA sunglasses undergoes a multi-stage process involving hand-polished Mazzucchelli1849 acetate, precision-engineered Zeiss lenses, and stress-tested hinges that can withstand over 200,000 bends. This level of quality control takes time, and every frame is individually inspected before it leaves our atelier.
In recent months, ENIGMA has experienced a significant increase in interest from customers around the world. While this incredible support is a testament to the trust you have placed in us, it has also stretched our production capacity beyond expectations.
What We Are Doing About It
Our team is already working closely with our craftsmen to expand production while maintaining our exacting standards. We have also scheduled additional production cycles to ensure faster restocks of our most popular pieces.
